THE ADVENTURES OF NATE THE GREAT

An engaging book series about the dreams and subsequent experiences of a precocious boy who lives on a farm near Portland in Oregon.

What readers are saying:

TANG Book 1, "Flying Newborn Baby"

"‘Flying Newborn Baby’ moved me to tears.  It's thoughtful, touching, and vulnerable in a way that's hard for me to capture in words. It's a simple, yet meaningful, story for children which invites deep thinking and discussion with adults about life experiences common to us all like imagination, personal identity, mortality, and suffering. I look forward to reading more in this book series about where Nate's adventures take him, and what he may teach us - both children and adults - about our own humanity in his youthful imagination and innocence.”

-Peter Beaman, RN

“This is a delightfully sweet and tender first adventure for Nate who flies far away as a newborn to visit his ailing Grandpa - one being born into the world and one departing it. "Flying Newborn Baby" leaves me asking, ‘What's next for this joyful, little boy?’"

- Karla Austin, Children's Social Worker

“Unique in style and substance, Book 1 in The Adventures of Nate the Great tells the real life experience of a newborn who, by his nature and place in the world, becomes the heroic center of a loving family - written with genius by the author through the keen observations and perspective of the protagonist. “Flying Newborn Baby” is a story with morale that everyone can relate to, children and adults alike. It’s an age-appropriate, classic tale of sadness and greatness (ending in happiness) which I highly recommend.

- Robert S., Parent

"In my opinion, the book was inspiring and shows happiness and love and all babies are special in their own way.”

- Kylie, Age 9

"What I like about book 1 is how I imagined Nate flying in a bed with wings."

- Robert

About the Author

A former television producer raised in the San Francisco Bay Area, Annamarie Harrison had never even considered living in the country. Yet, she raised her only child as a single-mother on a farm in Oregon.

How they came to live there, and the many more remarkable experiences they would share on that farm are told in the book series, “The Adventures of Nate the Great”, which chronicles her son’s unique childhood vision.

When reading these stories, Annamarie hopes that children everywhere will be inspired to imagine and create their own adventures in life, and that parents will learn to identify and foster their children’s special qualities from an early age.

“My son’s childhood adventures will always remain some of the most meaningful experiences of my life.”
